December was the ‘business’ end of the year for the Benny Mayhem Band as we spent the first 3 weeks touring remote regions and performing for our many happy corporate customers and their workers and families.

This was a great way to finish our biggest and most exciting year ever and it was a month of adventure and enthusiasm for the new year and our new album.

One highlight was our show at Hoover House in Gwalia, near Leonora, which was built in the 19th Century for Herbert Hoover (who would later become US President) and is surrounded by beautiful gardens, which is where we played, atop a steep hill.

On one side of the hill – our right hand side while we were on stage – is Australia’s deepest underground gold mine, believe me you can’t miss it. To our left, the Gwalia museum and ghost town which once housed the workers for the mine.

Both our drummers, Sage and Harry, played on this tour. At the end of our show at Kalgoorlie-Boulder Racing Club we met one of the families. The kids were very excited to meet Sage and see the drums up close, especially because dad’s a drummer! And we don’t normally do this but we let them sneak on stage with us and Sage showed them how a drum kit works.

Everyone went home with Santa hats and an invitation to our Monster Music Truck Workshop and Concert in Esperance, which was a big success in itself only recently.

After Christmas, I hit the road again for Solo Acoustic shows with two Save The Koalas Tour shows (in Collie and then Busselton which was the final show of the year). Then it was back to the studio for our producer, Steve, to finish this great new website, to work on post-production for the recent album and many other things.

2024 was a blast but 2025 is already well underway and is already even bigger. I promise I’ll be doing these more often now!
